SPANISH AR VERBS IMPERFECT TENSE

GCSE SPANISH KS3 IMPERFECT TENSE AR VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency Spanish AR verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys ideal for advanced KS3 Spanish & KS4 Spanish students who are regularly working with more complex language and texts, including several tenses. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. Though the workbooks focus on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, I still find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. Language learners tend to conflate what they know about grammar in their first language with the grammar of the language they are learning. For example, students with English as a first language frequently confuse the imperfect tense with the preterite tense when they are conjugating them, as well as when and how to use either tense. There are specific differences in usage between the tenses, and I do always discuss this with students about this when we’re using the workbooks The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Spanish-English and English-Spanish, useful for longer-term reference too Three differentiated conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Spanish across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Spanish, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Spanish. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding Spanish verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from a Spanish prompt. Notes and Next Steps template to encourage my students to reflect on their progress, and think about what they can reasonably and realistically do to meet learning targets and progress in their learning answer key Have a browse in my store for more Spanish grammar activities, and a wide range of Spanish language teaching and learning materials, with special offer bundles and lots of freebies too! GCSE SPANISH KS3 FUTURE TENSE AR VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency Spanish AR verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys ideal for KS3 Spanish students who are beginning to work with compound sentences and longer texts, and generally developing their knowledge and understanding of conjugation and tense in Spanish. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. The workbook focuses on the correct conjugation of verbs, rather than usage. For example, students with English as a first language do often try to conflate what they know about conjugation in both languages, and we frequently see students getting a little confused by the absence of a direct equivalent of will, before they really grasp that the notion of future is indicated in the verb stem + relevant pronoun ending, which is an entirely new concept for learners. In turn, they often mix up future tense and conditional tense endings, and I find it really useful to look at both tenses fairly closely together so that students can compare and contrast both formation and usage. The resource is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Spanish-English and English-Spanish, useful for longer-term reference too Three differentiated conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Spanish across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. KS5 SPANISH A LEVEL CONDITIONAL PERFECT TENSE AR VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE 25 high-frequency Spanish AR verbs, 150 conjugation questions, 3 differentiated challenges, answer keys ideal for advanced KS5 Spanish / advanced level Spanish students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources which feature a range of tenses.. My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are fixed conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognise and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written Spanish is accurate, and that their understanding of Spanish across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust. Students become very familiar and confident the more they work with conjugation, and these quick conjugations certainly help to embed that successfully. SPANISH FRUITS BINGO GAMES #1

(0)
PRIMARY SPANISH KS3 SPANISH FRUITS BINGO GAMES 100 DIFFERENTIATED BINGO GRIDS AND 40 CALLING CARDS Bingo games are perfect for language learning, and they’re really easy to differentiate. All my students, regardless of age, find playing the games a great way of consolidating their Spanish vocabulary, and developing their Spanish language skills in general - bingo is absolutely perfect for speaking, listening, reading, writing and spelling. This set includes 100 differentiated bingo grids and 40 calling cards - 20 in Spanish, and 20 in English - I always play with English calling cards too, as I’ve found it’s a really great way of further consolidating vocabulary - students have to focus carefully on the language ‘switch’, and translate what they hear really quickly. It’s definitely useful to have calling cards, so that you can keep track of what you’re calling out, and it also lets students be the bingo caller too, meaning they can play entirely independently of the teacher. There are twelve Spanish fruits in masculine, feminine, singular & plural in this set: the green apple the lemon the oranges the peach the raspberries the pineapple the kiwi the pear the bananas the green grapes the strawberry the watermelon I differentiate my bingo games by using picture-only cards, which are great for general vocabulary consolidation and recall, and listening skills. There are 40 9-square grids in total, and there’s a set of color (which I sometimes laminate so that I can just get them out whenever I need to - make sure students have wipe-clean pens on their tables!). I’ve also included the same grids in black and white - simply print these out. I sometimes give out pages with four grids on, and let students choose which order they play the grids in - they have multiple pages - or sometimes, I get the students to cut out the grids, place them in a small bowl or similar on tables and they then randomly choose grids - depending on the size of your class, you will definitely have several winners per game. The grids are designed for all the squares to be crossed off in order to win the game. I also use word-only grids to help students focus more on their reading skills, so I’ve included 40 Spanish word-only 9-square grids, 4 per page (10 pages). There are 20 mixed word and picture grids are ideal for additional challenge and differentiation. Have a browse in my store for more Spanish language learning games, and a wide range of other Spanish activities, with lots of freebies too! Files are non-editable in a zipped format. GERMAN VERBS I HAVE WHO HAS

(0)
KS3 GERMAN GCSE VERBS ACTIVITIES German Common Verbs Ich habe… Wer hat… ? This is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, ideal for practising, reinforcing and consolidating 99 high-frequency German verbs. The game has a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking and reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice too. Active learning is a really successful way of developing both language skills and general confidence. The verbs are in the infinitive form, and the aim of the game is to create a German verb chain as quickly as possible. There are two games, each with a slightly different challenge: Challenge 1: verbs are in alphabetical order, with the question and answer format: Ich habe… Wer hat… ? Challenge 2: verbs are in random order, with the question and answer format: Hast du… Ja/Nein, ich habe… In both challenges, the English translation of the verb appears immediately below the German verbs, which maximizes opportunity for really embedding vocab. The game works just as well if the cards are placed on a longish table, or other flat surface. I created the game for my KS3 German learners, who are ready to move into KS4 German, but I’ve also played the game with my more advanced learners, who really enjoy ’going back to the start’ and having the opportunity to get up, walk about and talk - the games definitely provide some essential variety in learning activities. I’d definitely recommend you laminate the cards, despite the extra prep and expense. They’re far more learner-friendly, and they will last for absolutely years. Distribute the cards, one or two per student, depending on how many students you have in your group. I frequently use a timer when we play. Playing in teams, using either a single challenge, or with both challenges, is really popular - students find the competitive element really motivating and are genuinely keen to see which team can finish first, and whether they can beat their own time record. I always do some high-speed verb quiz oral warm-up and warm-down activities to really get the most out of the game, for example Wie sagt man SEIN auf Deutsch? or Richtig oder falsch - SEIN heißt TO BE auf Englisch? There is an alphabetical German-English verb list, featuring all the verbs used in the game. This is useful as a longer-term reference resource too. The resource is non-editable in a zipped format. It is copyright, all rights reserved. It may not be copied, rewritten, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. GERMAN PLUPERFECT TENSE WITH SEIN

(0)
GERMAN CONJUGATION TAKING THE AUXILIARY SEIN IN THE PLUPERFECT TENSE conjugation drills focusing on regular and irregular German verbs taking sein in the pluperfect tense - 3 differentiated conjugation challenges, 150 quick conjugations and complete answer key. The workbook focuses on the mechanics of conjugation, rather than usage, and I’ve found that when my students are able to provide the correct conjugation very quickly, and out of a specific context, they feel really confident that their German conjugation skills are developing well. I find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example with the pluperfect tense, students need to have a good grasp of the relevant auxiliary in the imperfect tense - there are verbs that require either haben or sein, so the focus on the auxiliary sein with this workbook helps to embed this concept, and to get used to ensuring that the past participle is situated at the end of the clause or sentence. The structure is as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Quick Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Quick Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in German. Quick Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding German verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps sheet, which encourages students to think about how their understanding of German conjugation works, what progress they have made, what their targets for improvement might realistically be, and what they might reasonably do in order to meet those targets. Students also note down any new verbs they discover, which enables them to build up a really sound verb vocabulary bank. answer key Try this free sampler to see if it’s the kind of learning activity that will work well for your students: **GERMAN QUICK CONJUGATION SAMPLER ** https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/german-conjugation-practice-sampler-12154187 Have a browse in my store for more German grammar activities, and a wide range of German teaching and learning resources, with lots of freebies too! GERMAN REFLEXIVE VERBS PERFECT TENSE

(0)
GCSE GERMAN KS3 GERMAN KS4 GERMAN PERFECT TENSE REFLEXIVE VERBS CONJUGATION PRACTICE This workbook focuses on 25 high-frequency reflexive verbs in the perfect tense. I’ve used these ‘quick conjugations’ for many years with my German students. My students find them to be a great way of practising, reinforcing and revising how to conjugate essential verbs in German. I’ve used them in a range of contexts such as independent work either in class time or at home, holiday refresher work, or individual activities for cover lessons. I tend to give my students regular opportunities to practise the conjugations during the whole schools year, and they find this really useful for mapping their own progress and developing their overall understanding of how German conjugation ‘works’. I find it useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb conjugation. For example with the German perfect tense, students need to have a good grasp of the relevant auxiliary in the present tense - there are verbs that require either haben or sein, and to get used to ensuring that the past participle is situated at the end of the clause or sentence, ensuring that the reflexive pronouns are located correctly. Forming the past participle of a whole range of verb groups follows a certain pattern, which students are able to identify and predict the more they work with conjugation, and these quick conjugations will certainly help to embed that successfully. The workbook is structured as follows: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: German-English and English-German Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in German across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in German, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in German. The workbook is ideal for A Level French students who are beginning to work with more complex language and texts in French, including authentic resources, and developing their knowledge of tense and mood in French. The workbook focuses on formation and conjugation, rather than usage, though it’s definitely useful to remind students of a number of things when focusing on or revising tense and verb formation and conjugation. For example, language learners do often try to conflate what they know about grammar in their first language, with the grammar of the language they are learning, and with students whose first language is English , I frequently see students using avoir instead of être for verbs which require the auxiliary être. Students do need to to have a good grasp of the relevant auxiliary verbs in the imperfect tense to ensure that they can form the pluperfect tense accurately. In terms of the past participle, students begin to be able to predict it accurately, the more they see it, and construct it. The resource has the following structure: Two alphabetical verb reference lists: French-English and English-French. Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations: Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in French across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation. Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in French, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in French. Conjugation Challenge 3: students write the corresponding French verb conjugation, and its infinitive, from an English prompt. Notes and Next Steps template which students visit regularly - it really does encourage them to think about where they are now, how confident they feel, and what they might need to work on a little more to be absolutely sure of their conjugation skills. answer key FRENCH CONJUGATION PRACTICE FREE SAMPLER https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/french-verbs-conjugation-practice-sampler-12307809 The product is non-editable in a zipped format. PRIMARY FRENCH FRUITS WORD WALL MUR DE MOTS 25 SCRUMPTIOUS FRUITS This word wall display creates an instant introduction to 25 scrumptious fruits in French, and really lends a great French look and feel to the learning environment too. I like to share essential vocab that we can use in everyday language with my young learners from the beginning of their learning. We use them not only when we’re introducing and practising fruits (though I don’t actually select all 25 to learn in our main learning program), but also for developing French language skills and awareness in general. We talk a lot about the similarities and differences in the different languages, such as the definite article and gender, singular and plural, looking closely for cognates, and of course talking about the kinds of fruits we like or would like to try - star fruit is always a particular favourite! The fruits featured are: = the green apples = the red apple = the bananas = the cherries = the dates = the fig = the green grapes = the red grapes = the kiwi = the lemon = the mango = the nectarine = the olives = the oranges = the papaya = the peach = the pear = the pineapple = the pumpkin = the raspberry = the redcurrants = the rhubarb = the star fruit = the strawberries = the watermelon There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read - we do lots of guessing and spelling games, and quick vocab quizzes for example. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or black wave. I definitely recommend that you print on card stock and/or laminate for longevity - you’ll be able to enjoy your Primary French Fruits Word Wall Mur de Mots for years to come! French classroom language display posters which creates an instant introduction to 20 commonly-used expressions in your French classroom. The posters also give the learning environment a fabulous French look and feel, promoting French as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of your learners. They introduce learners to a range simple everyday language in French from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarize themselves with both the ‘look’ of French words, and how sounds are represented in the written form. The language is simple and effective, suitable for absolute beginners. I use the posters to promote use of the target language in contexts that we meet frequently and regularly, such as***Asseyez-vous ! Levez la main ! and Écoutez !*** There are some greetings, such as Bonjour tout le monde ! and Comment ça va ? It’s important to build routines in the language classroom, using only the target language, and avoiding translating everything orally when we speak to learners. It’s easy to develop conversational routines too, starting with greetings, and asking how people are - I generally do this with talk time, encouraging learners to ask each other how they are for example. The expressions in this set are: Do you understand?; Yes, I understand; A volunteer please; Let’s start please; Put your pencils down; Open your workbooks; Close your workbooks; Who has finished?; I have finished; Louder please; Have a good day; Have a good weekend; Sit in a circle; What is your name?; My name is…; What is the date today?; The date us…; More quickly; More slowly; Very good There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or plain white, so 40 posters in total. The flag background will definitely use a lot of printer ink, but I always laminate my posters, so that I can use them for years. The plain white background looks great too! It may not be copied, rewritten, amended, shared or distributed outside your own classroom in any way. The license for purchase is a single-user license only. Please read the Terms of Use. I have, who has? is a whole-group lively & communicative language learning game, perfect for practicing, reinforcing and refreshing a range of animals in Spanish. The game is ideal for language learning, with a multi-skill focus: listening, speaking & reading, with an important bonus focus on social interaction and participation. It’s perfect for pronunciation practice - I point out particular phonemes, sounds and accents too - such as the tilde on the letter ñ, and how important that is in creating the correct sound of the word. The aim of the game is to create a Spanish sentence chain as quickly as possible, starting with Tengo la primera tarjeta, and ending with the final card, Tengo la última tarjeta. The design is four cards per page, which allows for a large font - this is really important for beginner language learners who are beginning to familiarise themselves with the written word, and starting to link spelling with sound. There are 25 animals featured in the game: bee : bird : butterfly : cat : caterpillar : chicken : cow : dog : dolphin : donkey : duck : fish : fox : frog : horse : kangaroo : monkey : mouse : owl : parrot : pig : rabbit : sheep : spider : tortoise / turtle All the animals may not be in my immediate or longer-term learning plan, but the learning objective of the game moves beyond simply practicing or consolidating individual units of vocabulary or practicing particular grammar points: it’s about actively learning new language too. There is implicit input on grammatical concepts such as singular and plural, adjectival agreement, gender, definite, indefinite and partitive articles and position of adjectives, either preceding or proceeding the particular noun, which can differ from language to language: I’ve found this is really useful for students who may be learning more than one language at a particular time. This is a very successful way of really getting the most of what looks like a straightforward game for consolidating the target vocabulary - it is actually so much more! Laminate the cards if you can: they’re far more learner-friendly, and last in excellent condition for years, so you’ll be able to use them over and over again.
